06:00 GMT 23.11.2017 (Updated: 19:32 GMT 19.10.2022) The Georgia Dome in Atlanta, which once was home to the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and hosted several significant sports events like the Olympics and the Super Bowl, has been demolished, a mere 25 years after its opening.
The stadium was imploded Monday morning with more than two tons of dynamite. It took 15 seconds to reduce the building to rubble. After a cleanup which is expected to take about three months, the site will witness the construction of a hotel, parking lot and green space.
